Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge will be taking place in December 2019. This is a rare event where up to 30 teams from all over the world can enter the 3000 mile rowing challenge starting from The Canary Islands, Spain, and finishing in Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean. The challenge is so unique, more people have climbed Everest than sailed across an ocean. To learn more about The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge, click here
Ascot Care helps military organisations through charity work and donations whenever possible, and we are donating to this years British Army entrants, FORCE ATLANTIC. Force Atlantic is made up of 3 British Army instructors and an 18 year old junior soldier from the Army Foundation College Harrogate. The team will face enduring conditions, 20 foot waves, 3000 miles and 90 days at sea, being challenged both mentally and physically. Click here to read about Force Atlantic
Force Atlantic are taking on the challenge to show what can be achieved by being part of the Army Foundation College and promote themselves to disadvantaged teenagers from all over the country, and show what great leadership skills can be learnt within the college and how they too can become successful. The Army Foundation College will also be raising money to support (ABF) The Soldiers' Charity. The charity provides vital support to soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need.
£70,000-£90,000 is required to finance the teams entry into the challenge. The higher the figure, the more competitive the boat and associated equipment will be, increasing the chances of winning! Ideally Force Atlantic are looking to raise £100,000 in order to also donate to the charity. If you would like to donate to see Force Atlantic have all they need to compete to the best of their ability and to donate to The Soldiers’ Charity, click here.
We will be giving an update as to how Force Atlantic are getting on later in the year.
