Langley House renews its commitment to the Veteran Friendly Framework
We are delighted to announce that Langley House has successfully completed its first-year review and renewed its Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) status. This recognition highlights Langley House’s continued commitment to providing exceptional care and support to former servicemen and women, reaffirming our pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant.
Located in Peterlee, County Durham, Langley House is the first non-military care home in the North East to achieve this milestone, setting a benchmark for other care homes in the region.
The review process required the Langley House team to demonstrate significant improvements and best practices tailored to meet the unique needs of veterans residing in their home and their families.
Kathryn Glass, Veteran Friendly Framework Lead, expressed her admiration for the Langley House team, stating:
“You are the first non-military care home in the NE to successfully evidence your improvements and commitment to your Armed Forces residents and achieve this continuous commitment status. Congratulations to you all. We are so proud of you.”
Langley House Manager, Joeanne Campbell, shared her thoughts on the achievement:
“This is a proud moment for our team. We are honoured to continue supporting veterans in our care and to be recognised for our efforts. It reflects the passion and hard work our staff put into ensuring veterans feel understood, valued, and cared for.”
As part of the renewed status, Langley House has agreed for the VFF National Team to share some of their best practices with other care homes across its network. This initiative will provide valuable insights and ideas, helping more homes adopt veteran-friendly practices.
Looking ahead, Langley House remains committed to leading by example and fostering an environment where veterans can thrive.
We are proud of Langley House’s accomplishment and look forward to continuing our journey of excellence in veteran care.
