The Care Quality Commission is an independent regulator of health and social care in England. They are there to ensure that the care services provided to residents are safe, caring, effective, of high quality, responsive to people’s needs and well-led. Also guidance is given to the care sector on how they can improve in any way possible.

The CQC is an organisation which is there to protect people who use and are in need of specialist services, giving them all the information they require, concerning whichever sector of care they are in.

The CQC monitor, inspect and regulate the services within hospitals, GPs and Doctors, and care homes. Ensuring fundamental standards of quality and safety are upheld. The findings of the CQC are publish so reports are readily available for inspection.

Care homes are given a performance rating to help people make an informed decision as to where they want to be cared for. Care homes must maintain their level of care in order to keep the rating they have been awarded.

There are 4 categories of ratings, from the highest being “Outstanding”, to “Good”, to “Requires Improvement” or “Inadequate”.

Ascot Care are proud to say that all seven of our care home services across the North East of England have received a rating of “Good”.
